Adult Ministry Although the lives of men and women are very busy these days, it is always important to offer ways that they can be involved and feel a sense of belonging in the Church.
Women’s Ministry The Mount Calvary Evening Guild meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30PM in the lower level of the church during the months from September through June. All women of the church or any of their friends are encouraged to be members. The Guild ladies are associated with LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) and collect mites to be distributed by them. They do many service projects funded through annual dues and bake sales, plant flowers for the beautification of the church property, and other fun social events. The members of the Guild are also responsible for all communion set up and clean up, as well as a monthly cleaning of the church kitchen. The Evening Guild has an elected board that is made up of a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. The monthly meetings begin with refreshments and fellowship from 6:30 to 7:00pm, followed by Bible Study or a special speaker, and ending with any business that needs to be covered by the group. Men’s Ministry The Extraordinary Gentlemen of Mount Calvary meet on regular basis (sometimes at a unique restaurant) for fellowship and to plan events that can involve the whole congregation. This diverse group of gentlemen encompass many talents and skills, which they use as a resource when a need arises in the church. Young At Heart Mount Calvary’s senior adult ministry, Young At Heart, meet two or three times of year to share a meal and fellowship with each other. In between events the members work to stay in touch and active in the life of the church. |
