Family MinistryAt various times throughout the year, Mount Calvary hosts special events for the congregation and the community, which provide opportunities for families to interact together in fun and meaningful ways.
Advent Fair The Advent Fair is held on a Sunday afternoon in late November or early December. This fair focuses us on preparing our hearts for the real reason we celebrate Christmas, namely the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. At the fair there are games and activities for children and their parents to do together, tasty treats, music, prizes, fellowship…. Just an all around good time. All Around Easter Extravaganza On Palm Sunday afternoon, the church holds a Holy Week Journey, with a modern day twist. Small groups of visitors will journey through 5 different stations to learn about the events that Christ went through those last hours of his life to win our salvation for us. Along with the journey, there are crafts, games, prizes and treats, all which point us to the real meaning of the Easter holiday. Trunk or Treat Near Halloween, the church offers a safe place for neighborhood families to come and Trick or Treat with their little “ghouls”. There are two ways to participate: You may pull your car into a designated spot, pop your trunk, decorate it, and offer treats to those coming by, or just come and walk your littles one around the “trunks” of other people. Either way, it is a “hoot” for the whole family. |
