Grow in God's Word

Reading the Bible, God’s inspired words, helps us learn more about Him and how to be His disciples. This is a lifelong process. At Mt. Calvary we provide opportunities for God’s children of all ages to grow in their faith and knowledge of the Lord.

Sunday School is held on Sunday mornings from 9-9:45am in Schroeder Hall. Here is what Mount Calvary offers according to age level:
• Frolic (Sparkhouse Publishing)– (1-3 years) A loosely-structured class where children learn about Jesus, sing songs, and play. Taking into account the child’s attention span and developmental level, the teacher will engage the children with a short lesson, either individually or as a group. The concepts are simple and repeated often throughout the year for greater retention.
• DIG IN (Group Publishing)– (3 years- 5th grade) These students meet first as a large group to sing songs, learn of special projects and collect offering, then they break up into their classes. The multi-age classes are small, interactive, engaging and fun! The teachers use Group Publishing’s Dig In Curriculum which takes them through the Bible accounts, identifying a main point for each lesson, and helping them apply it to their lives. Each lesson has a many coordinated activities for the teachers to choose from to engage their class, so it never gets boring. |
• Summer Sunday School – During the summer, we take a break from our regular curriculum to try something new. This gives variety to the program, provides flexibility for summer travelers, and gives the regular Sunday School teachers a break.
• Confirmation – (6th - 8th grade & parents) Led by Rev. Dr. Leo Sanchez, these young people and their parents read through the Bible together, looking at the doctrines of the Church along the way, discussing why they are important and what they mean for their life today. The class meets from 9-9:45am in the lower level on Sunday mornings. At times they even schedule special outings as a class. Confirmation class meets during the school year and breaks from June-August. |
